ENGL 225: Shakespeare
ENGL 225 is an introduction to some of Shakespeare’s major dramatic works. You’ll be concentrating on the text of the plays themselves rather than on the secondary-source critical discussions of them so that you can experience and respond to the plays yourself. Although some of Shakespeare’s language is difficult for us (the English language has changed a lot in the past 400 years), his plays are still accessible and enormously enjoyable to read and watch.
Prerequisite: ENGL 105 (or a second-semester college-level composition course) or permission of instructor.
